CASA DE LABORES
CREATIONS SPACE FOR A NEW COLLABORATIVE URBAN CRAFTMANSHIP
Casa de Labores is an open urban craftsmanship laboratory located in the area of Chueca, Madrid. It intends to serve the neighbors as a collaborative platform where the artisanal tradition of the neighborhood can be recovered while a tight and strong network is woven through crafting with new and ancient technology.
The interior space is configured around industrialized elements, birch wood modules and ad-hoc 3D-printed connectors. This self-replicating structure serves both as storage and as functional workspace. Thanks to stencilpainted marks on the floor the movable modules can be arranged into different ways, so that they best accommodate the exact use of the space in that very same moment.
